Sure, you can call your friends on Skype as long as they are have a Skype account or buy a Magik Jack thing and pay either one of them for making and receiving calls over the net on your computer to real phone numbers. Well, I don’t know about you but in my all too well known form of being the ultimate cheapskate, I’d rather do it free.

Hosts will take note that this will allow you to not only have a call-in number for your shows but you can use it to make outgoing calls as well to interviewees.

I have added a plugin that pulls stock quotes from google finance.

~stock TICKER_SYMBOL will pull the basic data for that ticker.

example:

~stock NDAQ
Ion_Paradise: [NDAQ] Last: 20.02, Change: +0.33 (1.68%) [Dec 4, 4:00PM EST]
Ion_Paradise: => (After Hours) Last: 20.02, Change: 0.00 (0.00%) [Dec 4, 4:49PM EST]

I set up some short cuts for:

~dow
~sp500
~ndc (Nasdaq composite)

How to Reach a "Blocked" Website !

First find a "proxy server." Simply search the internet for "proxy servers". (Even a good proxy server might not work later. Therefore, learn how to find them. For these instructions, we will use an actual proxy server in Taiwan with the technical specs "address 139.223.199.194" and "port 8080".)

You can add value to the links you put in the chat room by using the tags feature of the delicious plugin on Ion_Paradise as follows.

[tag: music video] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THrQtuQPU4w

this will add the tags music and video in addition to your username and the channel to the tags on delicious for your submitted content.
